Brand: Volkwagen Golf III 1.9 SDI

Creation date: November 1995 (in my possession since July 2004)

Milage: 255.000 kms (116.000 kms driven by me)

This is my first car. I have driven with this car to my previous job back and forth, 120 kms a day. It has its little minor problems. A radio-antenna that is broken, rust forming near the wheels and a little dent at the left rear wheel.

Why am I posting this? This car will go to the dump beginning of June. I will miss it.

I visit my old appartment building every Tuesday after my bassguitar lessons. Always nice to meet up with friends, drink a beer and have some laughs. In this appartment building where I have lived for 9 years, there is always something happening.  See below a picture of a illiegal weed plantation being removed. It is the fourth I have seen while I have been there.

Police and garbage people threw it off the balcony. After that it will be thrown in a garbage truck that was already waiting.  Residents of the appartment building offered to help. They want to have some plants in return of course :-)

Google’s Street View is now available in a couple of towns in the Netherlands. Including mine (click picture for larger one) :

This saturday It was nice and sunny! I reinstalled my battery in my motorcycle.  At least after I found my screw again while I tried installing it… I went for a nice ride. This time the bike behaved very well, better than last year. Let us hope for a lovely spring and summer. And even a bit autumn. :-)

Bike season has now officially begun!

Finally, my Asus EEE Box B202 has arrived.

It is a very small computer, with its main property that it does not consume a lot of energy. This way I can get to my files and manage my downloads while I am away from home. It is conveniently stored in my hallway closet next to my wireless router and ADSL modem.

You can see a windows logo on there. I still have to remove the stickers :-) It of course runs on linux. I still have to fix an annoying problem: I cannot connect with ssh to it directly… I have to use an outside machine for that… no idea at the moment.

First of all sorry for my late post.  I will try to do better in the future :-)

As stated in part 1 I am very good in losing things. So let me sum up what I lost last month

1. Pocket knife – I always carry with me my pocket knife. I got it for my birthday when I was a little boy and I still carry it around with me all the time. It can be handy in a lot of situations. I lost it after using it.  I apparently put it somewhere in a crate where a friend found it for me. Lost for about two weeks.
2. Diary – Next to my pocket knife I always carry a little diary book in my back pocket. I work in the IT  but I hate PDAs. With this little diary I do not forget any appointments. I put it in a bag while I needed to change trousers and I forgot where I had put it. Lost for about two weeks.
3. Cell phone – Yup cell phone :S I left it in a building where I rehearse. Fortunately it was a church, and thou shall not steal still applies. The owner emailed me that he found it. Lost for three days.

Luckily of the above  I found everything again. I still have not found my watch and Ipod yet. I had to go to the phone store to enable my subscription again that I had blocked when I lost it.  I left the store with a shiny new Nokia 5310 :-)

I finally caved in. I could not sustain the pressure anymore. Everyone has one, or knows someone who has one. With the end of the year bonus I had to buy it. So I finally have my own Wii! I am practising my tennis very hard. I need to be top notch when I am going to compete with my friends.

I really love the idea of the Wii: game play matters again, instead of awesome graphics.
