After Brasil in September it is time for my next goal: visit the pyramids of Egypt. I am very fascinated by the rich history of Egypt. Fortunately a friend shares the interest. We will be going on a 14 day trip visiting all kind of tourist places like Cairo, Gizeh, Alexandria, Luxor and Aswam. I have to wait a while though. We leave December  3rd.

Creation date: November 1995 (in my possession since July 2004)

Milage: 255.000 kms (116.000 kms driven by me)

This is my first car. I have driven with this car to my previous job back and forth, 120 kms a day. It has its little minor problems. A radio-antenna that is broken, rust forming near the wheels and a little dent at the left rear wheel.

Why am I posting this? This car will go to the dump beginning of June. I will miss it.

Day 7 Relax day, with some shopping, lunch, packing and dinner in Olinda

Day 8 After a nice breakfast, I went by bus back to Natal to take a flight back home

It was a very nice, but short holiday.

Day 4 went to the island, went to the beach for a swim and some beer. In the evening the local town was crowded with locals holding a campagne for their local major candidate.

Day 5 Went on a boattrip to see some sites. Returned sun burned from the boat trip to see a fort and some sea cows (that right? no ídea to lazy to look :-) ) Went for a beer in the town and again at an Italian restaurant.

Day 6 Started the day at the beach. After that we went back to Olinda. I will be going to my brothers percussion band who are rehearsing tonight.

Day 1 Had a terrible flight. My brother was waiting for me in Natal. We had a nice beer at the beach of Natal.

Day 2 Had a nice morning at the beach of Natal, went to Olinda by bus. We had a nice dinner in Olinda and had a lot of fun after at a local bar there. Olinda is very nice and social place to be!

Day 3 Went to a meeting of my brother’s work in Recife after that we went site seeing down town.

In short, everthing goes well. Although a bit hot :-) Tomorrow we are going to an Island near Olinda for 2 days. Maybe I can post again this weekend.

Not that it really matters seeing how often I post :-) But my holiday to Brasil starts tomorrow. Maybe I am able to post during vacation, maybe not. I have to sea. Anyways good luck with work, good luck with school etc etc. I am off to the sun! :D

I made a deal with Chandler a while back. We would push eachother to make a post once a week. Well I did not succeed this time :S

It has been almost 2 years that I have been to Brasil with my brother. I have good memories of that trip. One of the best memories were me and my brother sitting down at the beach, with a nice beer like the topic and the pictures shows. Plans were to go on holiday to the alps this year. Sadly it was not possible for me to go on the last moment.  Fortunately my brother still lives in Olinda.  So I will be visiting him from September 29th to October 6th! I am looking forward to it.

Ouch last post was from November…. A lot of things happened since then. You may even say major things.

First of all, I have met a very lovely girlfriend. If one thing in my life is taking up time in a very positive way. It is her. We live 200 km from eachother resulting in only seeing eachother every weekend.

I have now been living in my own house. With the house comes the garden, which of course needs my attention. My father and I have build a platform which now holds my bike. There is of course still some room for a nice barbecue with friends. And the house it self needs to be cleaned from time to time.

I am now responsible for the music we are playing in our orchestra. So in my house sheets of music are stashed everywere. Which still needs to be sorted.

I am still taking lessons learning the bass guitar. Me not having much time, means progress in learning is slow. But me and the teacher are still have fun.

And finally I started a new job at the University of Groningen as a software engineer. So I left ASTRON. So no more fancy pictures anymore from business trips and nice telescopes. But instead I now have a far more stable job closer to home.

In a nutshell a lot of things has happenend keeping me away from my keyboard.
